The former office of Charles Tillet

Although the façade of the Château du Haut de Villarceaux may seem a little austere, the interior decoration is quite exuberant. In all the rooms, floral motifs in the Rocaille style decorate the woodwork and furniture. This style, which took shape during the Regency period, was a reaction to the symmetry of previous styles. Hence the pronounced curves and rich ornamentation. The former office of the Marquis Tillet de Villarceaux is no exception to the rule, with its wall sconce, basket sofa, and chairs covered in floral fabrics. A small Russian billiard table from the 1930s completes the room.
