The former farm of the Fort de Brégançon

Before its acquisition by the Sabran family in 1816, the castle of Brégançon was the fief of the eponymous Marquisate, on which was located the fort which became the official holiday residence of the presidents of the French Republic in 1968. Back then, the Fort de Brégançon was a military base whose supplies were provided by the castle, then a modest fortified house adjoining a farmyard. It was not until the mid-1950s that the farm's mixed fruit and vegetable culture was abandoned in favor of vines.
