The forests around Reims

The forest massif of the Montagne de Reims Regional Nature Park covers an area of 20,000 hectares. Its three estate forests – the Chêne à la Vierge forest in Sermiers, the Verzy forest and its Faux (twisted beech trees) biological reserve, and the Hautvillers forest – are listed under the national label of Outstanding Forest. This label rewards “a project that brings together local actors committed to excellence around a heritage with affirmed values”. Fourteen French forests have been awarded this label by the ONF (Office national des forêts or National Forestry Office).
