In a preserved historic village in the heart of the Norman grove hides the Cornille-Havard bells foundry workshop since 1865. Villedieu-les-Poêles is the City of Copper and the first French commandery of the Knights of Malta. It was then logical to find there a bell founder. The building has hardly changed and the floor is still made of standing cobblestones, made of wood, because the device absorbed the shocks when the bells were rolled to move them.
