The facade of the Philharmonie

Jean Nouvel is a visionary architect and his buildings are always innovative and environmentally friendly. For the Philharmonie de Paris, he dreamed of a flight of metallic birds on the facade and the square. His mineral building is located in the Parc de la Villette, from which it emerges like a hill. Never before has an architect taken such care of the acoustics of a concert hall. For the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez, Nouvel designed uncoupled walls and a double ceiling. Egis, the company responsible for the building’s engineering, was awarded the ‘Aménagement et Construction’ prize in the ‘Grand Prix National de l’Ingénierie’ in 2014.
