The Cité du Train-Patrimoine SNCF, in Mulhouse, is the biggest railway museum in Europe. From the first steam locomotives to the first TGV trains, the Cité du Train presents the evolution of trains and their uses. It exhibits a large collection of automotive equipment as well as prestigious historical pieces such as carriages of the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits or of Emperor Napoleon III’s train. It is also a tribute to railway workers, thanks to reconstructions that are as close to reality as possible.
