After 53 years of service, the Le Havre thermal power plant went off on March 31, 2021. Its closing down followed a decision by the French national assembly, within the framework of the Energy and Climate Law passed in November 2019. The dismantling of the plant, which opened in 1968 and burned up to 220 tons of coal per day, should take around ten years.
