Since the creation of the Plaza Athénée Hotel in 1913, red has been the emblematic colour of the Parisian establishment. Located on Avenue Montaigne, in the 8th arrondissement, the facade of the luxury hotel is always abundantly decorated with flamboyant red pelargoniums. The red canvases of the wrought iron balconies make the facade stand out from the chestnut trees of the avenue. The lobby is decorated in the same scarlet tones. The old round carpet with the hotel’s coat of arms has been replaced by another, resolutely contemporary design, in brown and red tones.
