The emblem of Jura
The lynx has become the emblem of the Jura department, which is home to the most important population in all of Western Europe. Walkers' encounters with the feline are often reported as peaceful as it does not flee but observes and allows itself to be admired. There have not been any cases of attacks on humans to date. Educational actions are carried out with young people by the Centre Athénas in order to make them aware of the future of the largest feline in Europe, still in danger of extinction.
