The elephant's trunk
3
0
The African elephant has two fingers at the tip of its trunk, which facilitates the seizure of objects, unlike its Asian fellow which has only one finger and rather uses its trunk to pick up objects. A baby elephant can lift about 4.5% of its own weight with its trunk. In the case of an adult male, this average load varies around 595lbs (270 kg), each individual obviously having its own abilities.
