Implanted between the Franco-Italian border and the Principality of Monaco, Menton is a seaside resort on the French Riviera attractive both for its architecture and for its privileged location and microclimate. The easternmost town of the French Riviera is nestled in the heart of a bay bounded to the west by Cap Martin and to the east by Pointe de la Mortola. Open to the Mediterranean, Menton is at the same time leaning against the foothills of the Alps and surrounded by a cirque of mountains dominated by Mont Agel (3,769 ft / 1,149 m), Mont Ours (4,097 ft / 1,249 m), and Berceau (3,937ft / 1,200m), which protect it from the Alpine cold winds.
