The dwelling of the Guédelon medieval castle under construction backs onto the northern curtain wall of the fortified structure and stands on two levels. The first level is a ground floor with outbuildings which notably houses a kitchen and a pantry. On the first floor, the vast reception room or aula was intended to welcome acts and parties. It was in this room that the lord dispensed justice. Its prestige is underlined by its more worked architecture with twin windows in molded and sculpted freestone that ennoble the facade.
