The double moult of huskies

Unlike other single-moult dog breeds, huskies shed twice a year over a period of at least three weeks during which they dramatically lose their hair and completely change their fur. The first moult takes place between spring and summer, the second between autumn and winter. They correspond to the extreme climatic variations of the huskies' region of origin, Siberia.
