The diversified flora of the lac Noir
0
0
The lac Noir (Black lake) is surrounded by cliffs and beech forests. It was revived by the construction of an artificial dike overcoming its glacial lock, and its peat-bog soil explains its dark color. Many edible plants grow there, such as ground watercress, mountain chicory, or sorrel. Flowers also develop on the lake in spring, as the stars of Saxifraga or yellow water lilies. Orange mosses complete the surroundings of the Black Lake.
