The D.27 model, adapted for aerobatics in the 1930s and flown exclusively by Marcel Doret, became the Dewoitine 530 (D.530) after the Second World War. The high-winged metal monoplane was equipped with a 500 hp Hispano-Suiza engine. The canvas wings were striped with red and white, and the stork – the emblem of the engine manufacturer Hispano-Suiza – was the same as on the D.27. However, the D.530 was more resistant and its instrument panel featured some 15 analog instruments, including an oxygen inhaler and radio equipment. The aircraft has been on display at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace (Air and Space Museum) at Le Bourget since 1978.
