For centuries, the Corsican horse is the only means of transport on the island. This hardy, robust breed was ridden and bluntly for everyday tasks. With the motorization of transport and agriculture, some owners release their horses into the wild. Some herds have therefore adapted to wildlife. In 2012, the breed is officially recognized, for the purpose of conservation.
