0
The sunrise reveals the contours of the Arves massif located in the departments of Savoie, Isère and Hautes-Alpes in the French Alps. Surrounded to the south by the Écrins massif from which it is separated by the Romanche, to the east by the Cerces massif, to the northeast by the Arc valley and by the Vanoise massif and to the north-west by Belledonne, it is cut by the Arvan river which flows from south to north. Its highest peaks are the Aiguilles d'Arves (11,528ft/3,514m), the Goléon (11,243ft/3,427m) and the Aiguilles de la Saussaz (11,026ft/3,361m).
