The streets of the medieval heart of Besse en Chandesse are marked with the town's coat of arms, seen here on the left of the street sign. Dating back to 1698, it features St John the Baptist as a preacher in the desert and framed by three fleurs-de-lis. All the motifs are gold on an azure background.
