The cliché of the paradise beach

Located at the end of the Sainte-Anne peninsula in the southeast of Martinique, the beach of Grande Anse des Salines stretches over 0.6 miles (one km) of fine golden sand facing calm and shallow turquoise blue waters. The cove forms a slight arc of a circle naturally lined with country pear trees, grape trees, and mancenilliers. Hundreds of more photogenic coconut palms were planted there in the 1950s to stick to the cliché of the paradise beach, thus promoting tourism and seducing visitors. The operation was crowned with success since this beach is now considered the most beautiful beach on the island.
