The black-spotted stingray
3
0
The black-spotted stingray (Taeniura meyeni) is recognizable by the thickness of its body and its more discoid silhouette than other species of rays. Its small eyes located on the top of its head present a large spiral behind the orbital cavity. Mostly motionless on the sandy stretches at the foot of the reef walls during the day, it is harmless and without any aggressiveness if it not disturbed.
