The archipelago of the Gambier is the birthplace of an oyster the pinctada margaritifera which produces a very specific type of nacre. After 2 years spent at 8 meters under the sea level, the result is amazing, the sedimentation process led the nucleus to transform in an authentic black pearl. Actually, the black pearl can have a great variation of grey ranging between light grey and anthracite. After 2 years spent under the sea level, the result is impressive!
