In Alsace, respect for nature is rooted in tradition. The region is the cradle of biodynamic agriculture, with the installation of the first estate in 1925 and the foundation in Strasbourg, in 1958, of the French association of biodynamic culture. Biodynamics has the same objectives as organic farming, but the approach is even more global, restoring the earth to the universe. It advocates cultivation practices in harmony with cosmic cycles and the phases of the moon. Biodynamics helps the vine to find its balance. This way, the plant is more resistant to parasites and possible diseases.
