The Cité du Train-Patrimoine SNCF in Mulhouse is the largest railway museum in Europe. Technology enthusiasts can explore the intricate mechanics of a 231 Pacific no.3.1192 steam locomotive of 1936 by descending into the pit beneath the engine. Called the Golden Arrow, this train was the first to operate between London and Paris via a ferry.
