The Belfry turret and bell tower
Built in the 15th century, the Belfry Gate of the town of Besse saw its device be partially modified in the 16th century. The door was indeed raised by an eight-sided turret, itself surmounted by a bell tower. The barbican – pierced by four embrasures for guns – date from the same period.
