Ravenoville-Plage, the seafront of the village of Ravenoville, is located in the Manche department about 25 miles (40 km) south of Cherbourg between Saint-Marcouf and Foucarville on the east coast of Cotentin. Eighty small houses in bright colors with direct access to the beach can be seen there. These beach cabins protected by a dike are very popular with visitors. Originally Spartan and intended for fishermen, they multiplied and developed with the advent of paid holidays.
