The Bay of Angels

The 'Baie des Anges' (Bay of Angels) stretches along the Mediterranean for some 18.6 miles (30 km) from Nice to Cap d'Antibes in the Alpes-Maritimes department. In Nice, it is bordered by the famous 'Promenade des Anglais' and the Quai des Etats-Unis. The Paillon and the Magnan valley stream have their mouths there. The Christian mythology claims that, in the 3rd century, angels would have brought the boat containing the body of Sainte Reparate (now buried in the eponymous Nice cathedral) from Judea to the current 'Baie des Anges'.
