The territory of Saint-Jeannet in the Alpes-Maritimes department extends over 3,603 acres (1,458 ha) between 328 and 1,335 ft (100 and 407 m) above sea level, between the Var river east and La Cagne to the west. It mostly consists of the Prealps of Grasse and a line of baous, a term that designates barren and karstic formations. The adret side of the baou of Saint-Jeannet (2,647 ft / 807 m) shelters the eponymous village, nestled there to take advantage of the southern sunshine and be protected from the northern winds. It constitutes the most spectacular and popular baou with climbing enthusiasts in the area.
