The banks of Lake Servières

A 45 minutes walk allows visitors to go around Lake Servières and observe the configuration of its banks. Almost circular in shape, it is surrounded by steep walls towards the Puy de Combe-Perret to the south. At the lake's eastern end, near the Puy d'Augère, the waters are flush with the edge of the crater in which it extends and which gives it its shape. The overflow sometimes spills out and feeds the Sioule, a tributary of the Allier river that originates about 0.74 miles (1.2 km) to the northeast of Lake Servières.
