The Aubrac plateau

0
The Aubrac plateau is located between the regions of Auvergne-Rhône Alpes and Occitanie. It extends over three departments: Lozère, Cantal, and Aveyron. The average altitude of the plateau is 3,280 feet (1000 m). It is limited to the north by the Truyère gorges and to the south by the Lot valley. Space there is divided between immense pastures and forests. In 2018 it became the Aubrac Regional Nature Park. This high plateau punctuated with granite blocks is a thousand-year-old crossing point on the road to Santiago de Compostela.
