The antipodes of the Antipodes islands

Surrounded by the Channel and marked by the Gatteville lighthouse at its very end, Pointe de Barfleur is a cape at the northeast end of the Cotentin peninsula. It constitutes the northwest limit of the Baie de Seine and is located exactly at the antipodes of the Antipodes Islands. This New Zealand archipelago presents similarities with Pointe de Barfleur in terms of biodiversity. Both are home to a vast fauna of seabirds that nest and reproduce in the cavities of their rocks.
