At Cornille-Havard, 17 craftsmen perpetuate the bell foundry tradition of Villedieu-les-Poêles. Methods have evolved in order to achieve perfection in the desired note, depending on the thickness of the brass. The bell is now computer modeled and the templates (gabarits) laser cut. Though technology decides on the shape of the interior and exterior bell, the molds are still hand-made, thanks to the unique know-how of the craftsman.
