The Albert 1er Garden connects the seaside to Place Masséna. It is one of the oldest gardens in the city of Nice. Planted with palm groves and ancient rose gardens surrounded by lawns adorned with arches, ponds and fountains, it offers a vast place for walks, relaxation and summer events in its bandstand and open-air theater from the end of the 19th century. It houses the Arc de Venet 115°5, a 62 feet (19 m) high black metal arch.
