A quarter (25.1%) of the territory of the municipality of La Londe-les-Maures in the Var department is devoted to agriculture and a vast majority of 19.5% to viticulture. The large agricultural estates - like those of Bormettes or later of Bastidon - were developed by the monks and redistributed after the Revolution. In the 19th century, a new bourgeoisie established in the town thanks to its economic boom linked to mining, bought them and enlarged them.
