Nicknamed 'the ace of the crosscut chisel', Robert Marichy is a woodturner now in his 80s who has been woodturning for more than sixty years in Arinthod in the Jura department. He took over from his father, a turner, and his grandfather, a farmer and turner, and continues to bear witness to this ancestral activity intimately linked to the region by welcoming visitors into his immutable workshop. The best worker of France in 1990, he has decided to produce the twenty-three masterpieces of the competition since its creation.
