In Honduras, the clear waters of the Bahia islands archipelago allow coral to grow like a forest. To live, the coral animal, the polyp, associates with a microscopic seaweed called zooxanthellae. This alga captures the light, photosynthesizes, and ensures the growth of the coral, which protects it in return.
