Watch over their territory

Males in coalition spend a lot of time observing and watching over their territory. They look for preys, competitors but also potential threats such as other predators. Often perched on a promontory, on a termite mound, on the top of a hill or other kind high point, they sit in a way so that each one can look in one direction, and all together covering the entire landscape.
