Since 1985, the Coastal Protection Agency of the Grand Est region in France has been involved in acquiring fragile or threatened land in the area. It undertakes restoration programs and later entrusts them to municipalities, local authorities, or associations that perpetuate its actions following a joint charter. They often receive tools from specialists to properly manage the sites for which they are responsible. Thus, Madine Lake is monitored by the Lorraine Mammals Studies Group and the Madine Approved Association for Fishing and Protection of Aquatic Environments.
