On the steep paths of the Niolo

Driven by Jean-Paul Géronimi, one of the last Corsican mule drivers, the team of The Explorers has climbed the highest valley of the island, hanged at about 850 m (2,789 ft) altitude. In the hinterland of Corsica, the Niolo is a glacial valley formed by the Golo, the longest river of the island, and surrounded by stunning peaks. Only one road enters this huge cradle of shepherds but a mule track winds through the gorges.
