The Monte Cintu massif is a long ridge that separates the valleys of Asco and Golo, in the department of Haute-Corse. The Monte Cintu, located on the municipalities of Asco and Lozzi, is the highest point of the island: its summit rises to 2,706 m (8,878 ft).
This hostile and haunting mountain is walked by the most courageous and advanced hikers. A difficult climb of 12 km (7.5 mi) by the legendary GR20 route provides access to the roof of Corsica.
