Saint-Nazaire Cathedral in Béziers stands on the site of an old Romanesque cathedral that imploded in 1209. It was entirely burned down by the troops of the King and the Pope commissioned by Simon de Montfort. The reconstruction, which lasted until the 15th century, was never fully completed. A large number of marquees are still missing from the colonnades of the cloister on the garden side. A true emblem of Béziers, the cathedral still stands near the city's Roman ramparts and has been listed as a Historical Monument since 1840.
