Riquewihr is supplied mainly by two rivers. The Sembach rises on the eastern slope of the Koenigsstuhl, 2,296 ft (700 m) above sea level. It joins the Fecht after a course of 4,35 mi (7 km). The Strengbach delimits Riquewihr's northern border with Ribeauvillé. Another tributary of the Fecht, it has its source on the heights of Aubure and crosses the town of Ribeauvillé. In 2008, the Sembach and the Hagelgraben, its tributary, caused floods declared as natural disasters.
