After a day of hunting, the sun sets on Eiao. The coasts being not conducive to disembarkation, the boat that dropped the hunters waits in the safe anchorage of the bay of Vaituha, by 39.37ft (12m) of sandy bottom. A few bays cut the vertiginous cliffs of the north-west coast and provide access to the interior of the island.
