The Explorers
The sunset glow on Tubuai lagoon recalls the ghosts of the past. At the end of the 18thC, the island's inhabitants fought the mutineers of the Bounty, a historical episode popularized by 4 cinematographic adaptations. The 12 islanders killed by the guns and canonballs of the Bounty gave its name to the 'Bloody Bay', located in Mataura, near the current airport.
