Monitoring of the protected ecosystems
2
0
The protected areas inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List include their associated ecosystems. The activities there are regulated, the sampling is limited and monitoring networks are set up. The reef monitoring is performed every 5 years by scientists, but the participatory monitoring of the neighbouring ecosystems - such as the mangrove of the Poindimié region in the North and East coastal zone - is carried out annually by associative networks of volunteers like these members of the Popwadene association.
