L’aulne glutineux est un arbre feuillu de la famille des Bétulacées.
Ces feuilles sont ovales et tronquées au sommet, comme découpées d’un coup de ciseaux.
Les strobiles, fruits de l’aulne glutineux, sont des petits cônes verts
On trouve cet arbre au bord des rivières, où il permet notamment de consolider les rives grâce à son important système racinaire.
