Of very diverse shapes, the pliers, irons, and tweezers are the universal tools of the master glassmaker who uses their tips, cutting edges, or backs. They mainly serve to stretch or modify the shape of the parison (mass of molten glass) or the glass piece during its manufacture. The maintenance of these tools is essential, and they must always remain sufficiently tightened and clean so as not to scratch nor dirty the glass.
