Violet-backed starling in its wooded habitat
1
0
A good part of the plumage of the male violet-backed starling is a strongly iridescent dark purple. The violet-backed starling lives in open woodlands with a predilection for fruit trees (fig, mulberry). Its mixed diet is composed of plants and winged invertebrates, including ants and termites, caught in flight.
