The small village of Lentilles, in the Aube department, has one of the finest examples of half-timbered churches in the Champagne region. Its 16th-century church is dedicated to Saint James, whose statue stands above the entrance porch. He carries a pilgrim's staff as the road to Compostela crosses the Champagne region in numerous places. The wall behind the statue is covered with chestnut tiles. The monument was classified as a Historical Monument in 1933.
