During summer, the sun never goes down: it is the polar day. Two major seasons dominate in the Arctic: 8 months of a long and freezing and bleak winter and 3 months of a quick and fresh summer. Spring and autumn last only a few weeks. Despite these harsh climatic conditions, the Arctic tundra hosts a variety of very well-adapted fauna and flora.
