Soils and a climate favorable to viticulture

0
In Pierrefeu-du-Var, the vines are cultivated in clay-limestone plains and on the schist slopes of a cirque oriented towards the sea. The soil is poor in humus, permeable, shallow, stony and well drained, so many ideal conditions for the growth of the vineyard. The very sunny microclimate (3,000 hours per year) with mild winters and hot and dry summers also largely contributes to the quality of production, which is still favored by the mistral which, by chasing away the clouds, protects the grapes from humidity linked diseases.
